YouTube to ditch Akamai CDN for it’s own live streaming platform?

Google’s video sharing site YouTube is quietly masquerading towards the next big thing – Live Streaming. After successfully live streaming Indian Premier League matches, YouTube is soon going to launch its Live Streaming platform. Video Content partners would be able to stream video content in real-time to the users, reported TechCrunch. The Live Streams would go through alpha test for two days and then the functions will be pulled down. Google confirmed that YouTube will eventually offer Live Streaming function to its content partners.
