Broadpeak Integrates Skytide Streaming Video Analytics Capabilities into Its CDN Content Delivery Platform

CESSON-SÉVIGNÉ, France — Dec. 8, 2010 — Broadpeak, the leading provider of content delivery network (CDN) solutions to Internet service providers and pay-TV operators worldwide, today announced that the Skytide streaming video analytics solution is now fully integrated into Broadpeak’s Mediator CDN system. This integration provides network operators and their customers with tools to visualize advanced statistical information and manage their video-on-demand or live Web TV operations more profitably, enabling rapid response to network traffic demands, content lifecycle management, and portfolio optimization.

To provide these value-added capabilities, Broadpeak’s streaming platform pushes raw traffic data to Skytide Insight for CDNs. Skytide then processes it into meaningful business intelligence that’s displayed using user-friendly dashboards and reports. Operators can leverage this intelligence to make better-informed content and revenue management decisions based on consumption patterns by content type, audience type, geography, and other key dimensions.

The highly-scalable Broadpeak Mediator system enables network service providers to efficiently deliver content to multiple screens, over any type of network, using intelligent popularity management to optimize performance. The addition of world-class analytics from Skytide enables a comprehensive, detailed view of performance at critical points along the online video value chain, including network operator, business partner, and content owner views.

"Our partnership with Skytide enables us to provide an extremely flexible reporting and analytics solution that gives network operators — and their customers and business partners — the deepest possible understanding of who is watching what content, when, how, and from where," said Jacques Le Mancq, Broadpeak’s president and CEO. "Our customers will leverage this valuable information to optimize their content mix, correct service quality issues, and provision capacity more economically. This will help them to maximize revenues and reduce costs like never before."

Skytide Insight for Content Delivery Networks is the leading reporting and analytics solution for CDNs. Powered by the patented Skytide Analytical Platform, it can easily process terabytes of data daily and quickly turn it into detailed information that guides decision making for capacity planning, service quality, pricing and billing, content selection, and other critical business processes.

"We’re delighted to partner with Broadpeak and to work with the leading companies that they serve worldwide," said Skytide President and CEO, Michael O’Donnell. "Together, we can help network operators to become more efficient, profitable, and competitive leaders in the video delivery industry."
